What is eSMART Camp?
eSMART (exploring Science, Math and Related technologies) is a Summer Camp for Girls Sponsored by the St. George, Utah chapter of the American Association of University Women and Dixie State University to encourage our girls to reach high and love to learn so they can be anything they want to be.

The camp has been extended this year to four days and three nights in the dorms at DSU (first college experience)  will include several STEM workshops taught by successful women with STEM careers.  We will also have time for some fun, getting to know girls from other schools, learning to work together, interviewing STEM career women and being escorted by women college STEM students.  We will spend some time talking about the barriers that might be put in our ways and methods of overcoming them.

Camp Co-Director:  Dr. Erin O’Brien  obrien@dixie.edu or 435-652-7761
Camp Co-Director: Rachel Ramsay ramsay@dixie.edu or 435-879-4848

How is eSMART Camp Funded?
eSMART has several methods of funding. The girls are charged an admission fee (fee waivers are available for those in need), grant monies, and most of all community members supporting us in small to big ways.

When is eSMART Camp this year?
Camp is scheduled July 7-10 and July 14-17, 2015. Check-in is at 8:00 a.m. the first day of camp and closing ceremonies and the last day at 5:30 p.m. Parents are invited to attend.

How can a girl I know attend?
Check back for our application at the end of February 2015. Applications will be available in all of the intermediate and charter schools in Washington and Kane Counties or you can find it on the Washington County School districts web site at washk-12.org.

Donate to eSMART Camp!
All donations are welcome. Remember 7 people giving $50 each will provide a scholarship for one girl. But it actually will cost close to $460 per girl to fund the camp. Big donations are very welcome! This is a community project for the benefit of our young women.  Educated women are always an asset to a community.

eSMART Camp Reunions
We plan a reunion of the girls who have already attended camp. We want to hear what they have to say about camp after a while.   Stay tuned for our next reunion……
